Project to extend the natural gas network to Thetford Mines

On September 23, 2011, the Régie de l'énergie gave its approval for Gaz Métro to extend its natural gas pipeline approximately 80 kilometres from Vallée-Jonction to Thetford Mines. The total investment of over $25 million will greatly enhance the competitiveness of local businesses, retailers and institutions.
The construction work is now done since November 2012. The pipeline route is following Route 112 from Vallée-Jonction to Black Lake (Thetford Mines). This extension serves the communities of Vallée-Jonction, Saint-Frédéric, Tring-Jonction, Sacré-Cœur-de-Jésus, East Broughton, Saint-Pierre-de-Broughton and Thetford Mines, including the Black Lake area.
